Young children like to sing and play. While that is all well and good, you want them to learn while they are in your classroom. Consider incorporating songs into your phonics curriculum and watch as children learn with ease and excitement. Adding songs to any subject is fun, but with phonics, it can mean the difference between catching onto a new letter sound with grace or by pulling teeth. You decide!

Here are some great phonics CDs for the classroom:

Edutunes.com Phonics Time CD and Book Set
This fun and interactive CD comes with 28 original songs to help teach children between the ages of 3 and 6 years old. The topics covered include learning/reviewing ABCs, letter sounds, vowels and consonants, rhyming words, short vowels, long vowels, compound words, contractions, letter tricks, beginning blends, ending blends, and much more. The CD comes with 26 phonics posters that have the lyrics to the songs so you can display them for the class to see. You also review a booklet with worksheets to help reinforce concepts that they sing along to with the CD.
